Generic: Adapalene BP 1 mg + Benzoyl Peroxide 25 USP mg (Each Gram Gel Contains)
Indication: Combination Treatment for moderate to severe Acne.
Ingredients:
- Adapalene: Adapalene helps to prevent new comedone formation as well as by slowing the process of excessive growth in the lining of pores and desensitizes the skin to inflammation. It aids the natural exfoliation of the surface layer of skin and helps to unblock the pores and sebaceous glands (the glands that produce sebum, the skin’s natural oil), allowing the sebum to escape.
- Benzoyl peroxide: Benzoyl peroxide reduces oil production & serves as a bactericidal agent that prevents the resistance of acne-causing bacteria (Propionibacterium) to antibiotics. It also has moderate comedone-destroying and anti-inflammatory properties.
Application Guideline:
Apply a thin film of gel to the affected areas of the face once daily in the evening after washing the face well.
Precaution:
- Application of the gel may make your skin more sensitive to sunlight than usual. Therefore, it is best to apply it in the evening time and wash it off after 1 hour of the application.
- Indicated for the topical treatment of acne vulgaris in patients 9 years of age and older.
- Medications containing topical retinoid such as adapalene should be avoided during pregnancy.
